Ideenreich - Nachhaltigkeit früher und heute

Where does the term "sustainability" come from, and what does it actually mean? What methods and ideas existed in the past? And what can be adopted and further developed for the present and the future? What should not be revisited? And how does our region tackle today’s challenges relating to climate, mobility, and waste management?
The Hornmoldhaus City Museum explores these questions in its new temporary exhibition. Through numerous objects, photographs, and documents, the exhibition illustrates how people used to manage resources and which ideas continue to have an impact today. At the same time, the exhibition invites visitors to turn their attention to current challenges and possible approaches to solutions. Analog and digital interactive stations offer visitors the opportunity to discover various aspects of sustainability for themselves, try them out, and question them.
The opening of the temporary exhibition "Ideenreich - Nachhaltigkeit früher und heute" will take place on 11 October 2026 at 11.15 am in the Council Chamber of Bietigheim Town Hall. We cordially invite you to attend the opening.
