GROWING TOGETHER (ZUSAMMEN WACHSEN) Bietigheim and Bissingen 50 years ago
To mark the 50th anniversary of the merger of Bietigheim and Bissingen in 1975, the Hornmoldhaus City Museum is hosting the special exhibition “GROWING TOGETHER - Bietigheim and Bissingen 50 years ago”. On display are numerous historical photographs from the picture archive as well as a large number of memorabilia from the city museum's depots or from private lenders from the local community. These include, for example, exhibits from various associations and personalities such as the mayors Manfred List and Hermann Silcher, as well as documents that shed light on the merger in 1975 and how the two towns have grown together over the past 50 years.
The publication is available for 20 euros at the Hornmoldhaus City Museum.
Brochure 'Bietigheim Wine Registry'
The Bietigheim Wine Registry, begun in 1550 under town clerk Sebastian Hornmold, documents the town's wine trade, including prices, quantities and quality. To this day, the registry is updated annually by the mayor and kept in a magnificent wall cabinet in the Hornmoldhaus City Museum. The Wine Registry provides valuable insights into the development, climate and pest information of winegrowing. For conservation reasons however, the historical document cannot be removed.
