Together with a museum education specialist, the children go on a journey through time. With the Hornolino children's museum guide in their luggage, they solve exciting puzzles on topics related to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance at various stations. There are surprises to smell, feel, puzzle and touch. After the journey through time, the children make their own scented sachets. As a very special souvenir, each child can take home their personally designed Hornolino children's museum guide worth 4 euros as a gift. Suitable for children aged 7 and older.

The Romans - around Bietigheim-Bissingen (D2)

How did the Romans live in our region? What did a Roman estate - the so-called "villa rustica" - look like? What did they eat and what leisure activities were there? What clothes, shoes and jewelry did people wear at that time? Based on archaeological findings in the "Weilerlen" area, the children learn interesting facts about the life of the Romans. The children try on Roman clothing and can grind with a grain mill and try out Roman games. For example, they can make their own mosaic to take home. Suitable for children aged 6 and older.

Laundry day 100 years ago (D3)

How was laundry washed without a washing machine? Embedded in the playful daily routine of a family 100 years ago, this question is answered in detail during this offer. The children can use a washboard, tub, soap and other everyday objects according to instructions and make their own spread for their snack after laundry day using homemade butter. This offer for children aged 5 to 8 is limited to the months of May to September, as the activity largely takes place outdoors.

A Bietigheim native in Japan (D4)

Erwin Baelz was born in Bietigheim in 1849 and, after training as a medical doctor, lived in Japan for 29 years as a physician and professor. He was intensively involved with Japanese culture and collected numerous art objects, which he brought back to Württemberg to provide as inspiration for artists. The children will learn interesting facts about Baelz and Japan, for example, they will look at works of art, listen to music or fairy tales, slip into kimonos, try eating with chopsticks and make origami (traditional Japanese folding technique). Suitable for children aged 8 and older.
